On
30 January, the integrated members of CinTurs elected the new
coordinator of CinTurs. Manuela Guerreiro was elected coordinator and
appointed Luís Pereira as co-coordinator. Together they will lead
CinTurs for the next 3 years.
On 11 January, CinTurs received an on-site visit from the FCT Management Panel as part of the application under the Pluriannual Program for the Funding of R&D Units 2023/2024. During this visit, the panel visited CinTurs facilities and had the opportunity to talk to CinTurs researchers. Read more.
On 22 January, the webinar "Development and reflections on a coastal management project involving fishing and tourism activities using digital tools" focused on the work developed in the SEARM-FIT project (Socioeconomic artificial reef monitoring: fisheries interaction with tourism) and the dissemination of its results. CinTurs was a partner in the first edition of the Algarve Winter Meeting: Bridging Tourism, Hospitality & Marketing, held on the 24th of January at the School of Management, Tourism and Hospitality, University of the Algarve (Portugal). Read more.
Luís Pereira, CinTurs researcher, presented the paper “Analysis of Determinants of Booking Conversion Rates: A New Instrument for Helping Maximization of Hotel Revenue” at the 2024 Revenue Management and Pricing in Service Sectors (REMAPS)/RevME Europe Conference, held at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid on 12-13 December.
