The Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve hosted the 17th Annual Meeting of the Portuguese Economic Journal (PEJ) from 5 to 7 July, and CinTurs was one of the partners and co-organisers of the event. One of the guest speakers, Richard Tol from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom, spoke about the impact of climate change on the world economy. The tourism industry was also highlighted and was the topic chosen by another guest speaker, Jaume Rosselló, from the University of the Balearic Islands in Spain. Read more.

PEJ 2024

Workshop 1

On 18 July, CinTurs organised the workshop “Business Intelligence no Turismo: Introdução ao Power BI”. The course aimed to introduce participants to the potential of Business Intelligence (BI) tools using Power BI software. The initiative was led by Célia Ramos, CinTurs researcher and professor at the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism at the University of Algarve. Read more.

Workshop 2

CinTurs promoted a second workshop “Business Intelligence no Turismo: Visualização de Dados e Dashboards no Power BI”. The course was designed to introduce participants to the capabilities of business intelligence (BI) tools, data visualisation and dashboarding with Power BI. The session was also conducted by Célia Ramos, CinTurs researcher and professor at the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism at the University of Algarve. Read more.

Knowledge Transfer

Thomas Panagopoulos, a CinTurs researcher, participated in the "International Summer School on Water Resilience and Nature-Based Solutions", held in Aveiro, Portugal, from 3 to 9 June, as a speaker at the Roundtable - Engagement methodologies and participatory case studies for nature-based solutions, within the framework of the NBSINFRA project ref. 101121210.
