A team of researchers from CinTurs developed the project "Shaping the Future: Strategic Insights for Geotourism Development in the Aspiring Geopark Algarvensis" and presented the results on 5 August at the headquarters of the Algarvensis Geopark Association. This work by the CinTurs researchers is an important contribution to the UNESCO Global Geopark application that the Algarvensis Geopark Association is preparing for the 31st of October. The meeting was attended by Dr Guy Martini, President of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council and Member of the Executive Board of the Global Geoparks Network, Dr Artur Sá, Member of the Executive Board of the Global Geoparks Network and Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Geoparks, Sustainable Regional Development and Healthy Lifestyles, from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Dr Rosa Palma, President of the Algarvensis Geopark Association and Mayor of Silves, Dr Vítor Aleixo, Mayor of Loulé, Dr Elizabeth Silva, Executive Coordinator of the Algarvensis Geopark Association, Dr Dália Paulo, Municipal Director at Loulé City Council, Dr Paulo Fernandes, Scientific Coordinator of the Algarvensis Geopark, and several other team members.
