JTSW New Issue

The new issue of the Journal of Tourism, Sustainability and Well-being (JTSW) is available online. Tourism research continues to reveal the dynamics between visitor experience, community involvement, and workforce well-being. This issue comprises five articles. Collectively, these studies underscore that sustainable tourism growth depends on digital influence, experiential quality, empowered communities, and supportive labour practices. Read more 

Visiting Researchers

CinTurs welcomed researchers Anetta Pukas and Magdalena Daszkiewicz from Wroclaw University of Economics and Business in Poland for five days of training as part of the Erasmus+ staff mobility programme. During their visit, they met with the coordinators and researchers at the University of Algarve and CinTurs to exchange experiences and gain insights into the research areas, methods and frameworks used by the researchers. Collaborative Projects

CinTurs researchers Susana Pescada and Nelson Matos had their collaborative research projects, ‘TalentIA: Strategic Adoption of Artificial Intelligence for Talent Attraction and Retention across Different Sectors' and 'Beyond the Scenic View: Reimagining Destination Transformation through Eudaimonic and Hedonic Tourism Consumption for Inclusive Well-being' approved under the UAlg SEA-EU Research Seed Fund 2025 initiative. The initiative aims to encourage and support UAlg researchers in establishing partnerships within the SEA-EU Alliance, with the goal of submitting new research proposals to be developed in collaboration with researchers from other Alliance universities. Read more

Interview

On 11 June, Ana Cláudia Campos, CinTurs researcher, and her two 3rd-year supervised undergraduate students in Economics of the School of Economics at the University of Algarve, were interviewed at RUA-Rádio Universitária do Algarve. These two groups of students were jointly awarded first prize for their class group projects. Their work focused on the themes of (1) ethics for environmentally responsible production and protection, and (2) social responsibility in the restaurant industry, and was carried out as part of the Ethics and Social Responsibility module. To better frame the discussion, each group explored a case study. Ethics in the context of business management and operations primarily addresses current global societal challenges in diverse world regions, each of which has its own specific issues and problems.
