Promotion of scientific and technological culture and citizen science

CinTurs supports activities to foster social recognition of science and extend scientific culture to the general population in many ways, such as participation of IM in public talks at schools, libraries, museums, local and regional associations, fairs and other local events to enhance public engagement with science. Among others, the National Eco-Schools Seminars where IM act as volunteers (https://ecoescolas.abaae.pt/)

In addition, the option for more citizen-driven science practices is noteworthy since a growing number of R&D projects employ participatory methods to involve stakeholders and stimulate citizenship participation in research (e.g. Host Lab project https://www.hostlab.pt/). Participation of IM of CinTurs in the National Tourism Platform (https://plataformanacionaldeturismo.pt/), including in its social bodies, is another example.
