ATLAS - The Association for Tourism and Leisure Education Cultural Tourism Research Project (CTRP)

The ATLAS Cultural Tourism Project has been conducting research on the relationship between culture and tourism since 1991, and therefore is the longest-standing ATLAS research group. The CTRP has over the past 20 years undertaken nearly 40,000 visitor surveys and produced a number of publications, most of which can be found in the ATLAS publication list.

The aim of the study is to find out more about visitors to cultural events and attractions, their motivations, activities and impressions. The UAlg/CinTurs team will be responsible for conducting the project at the Algarve, Portugal’s region.
